2nd Sunday of Lent A 5 March 2023
Communion Reflection
Lord Jesus, keep me always alert to you, to your word, your action, and your constant presence in my life. Let me see your glory
Lent is for us the privileged season of change, of transformation, transfiguration. Our complacent and guilty faces have to be changed into faces of joy and love and service. The face of our world is to be changed from injustice into integrity, from hatred into kindness and friendship. We are afraid of change, especially at the cost of ourselves. Today Jesus shows us the way. He saw suffering and death waiting for him and so his face and heart were sad. But then the Father made Jesus’ face radiant for he would find life and resurrection and his face became radiant with joy and glory. If we follow Jesus and let him transform us our face will become radiant too.

OUR LENTEN JOURNEY :
LENT A TIME FOR FASTING AND FEASTING, A TIME TO RENEW,
RECOMMIT AND REVIVE OUR SPIRITUAL SELVES.
The gospel talks about: “Feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, counsel the doubtful, comfort the sorrowful, etc.” It’s easy to make connections between these admonitions and the many outreach projects our worshipping community provides. But perhaps we can look a little closer and make a clearer connection between the Corporal Works of Mercy and our worshipping community. As we look around ourselves, we might ask “Who is hungry? What are they hungry for: recognition, respect, or companionship? How can I fulfill their needs? Who doubts themselves, and how can I bolster their confidence? Who is discouraged and could benefit from some encouragement? Who needs to be sheltered? Who doesn’t feel at home among us?
Each day offers us the opportunity to create a worshipping community where the Works of Mercy are lived vibrantly among us. Lent is an excellent time to begin.
Scripture:
Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.” Matthew 25:40
Meditation:
What are some ways that I can reconnect with people who have become distant in my life?
I challenge you to lead a Lent full of action.
➢ Fast from indifference what's my attitude towards beggars, car guards etc. Who are the hungry, thirsty etc amongst us.
➢ Feast on sharing; let's talk more about our blessings than our struggles. Share the little we have. Share our time.
Church Fathers:
Love is the key to heaven. Fulton Sheen
Prayer for today:
Lord, forgive my failings in love and grant me the grace to be more like You in the days to come. Amen
