Father Jonathan’s Christmas Message 2025
As we gather to celebrate Christmas, another year has passed with many events
touching our lives in different ways. No doubt this year has brought joys and
sadness in different measure to each person, all colouring our memories of 2025.
We were journeying in this jubilee year of Hope. I pray all of us were touched by
some liturgical event and restored our hope. Hope in the Church, world and
family.
Traditionally, we see Christmas as a time of peace and joy, a time to celebrate
with family, with friends and loved ones. We do hope that your Christmas will
have something of that peace, joy and celebration. Such joyful celebrations may
not be possible for some. You may have lost a loved one since last Christmas, or
you may be overburdened by money worries, family problems or for many other
reasons. If you are, I want to assure you that, as pastor and a parish community,
we do care and offer you our support.
Christmas is not just a day but a season of reflection, generosity and renewal. It
is a time to open our hearts to the love of God and to share that love with those
around us, even in the difficult and though times. Let us remember the true
meaning of this season: the birth of the Christ-child, who teaches us to live with
compassion, humility and faith. The Christ-child who become one of us, the God
who chooses to associate Himself with us, so that our struggles and burdens, our
joys and sorrows are all carried in HIM.
May our homes be filled with the warmth of family, the joy of giving, and the peace
that comes from knowing Christ is with us. Let us also reach out to those in need,
offering kindness and support, so that everyone may feel the love of God during
this blessed season.
May our Lord Jesus Christ, born in Bethlehem, bless you, your families and loved
ones at this blessed time of hope and grace. May Mary, the Mother of the Child
Jesus and our Mother, watch over you and your beloved families.
A blessed Christmas to you
Peace, Joy and Love
