PRAYER FOR TODAY
Lord, help us to live in the gladness and grace of Easter Sunday, every day. Let us have hearts of thankfulness for your sacrifice. Let us have eyes that look upon your grace and rejoice in our salvation. Help us to walk in that mighty grace and tell your good news to the world.
Easter Sunday 31st March 2024
Communion Reflection
Believers learn to experience his presence among them in every age as they discern their purpose and mission in life. We, as worshippers, say “Amen” to the reality of that presence when we gather for the Eucharist on Easter Sunday and every Sunday — remembering and celebrating the resurrection of Jesus.
EASTER SUNDAY CELEBRATION
Dear Fellow Pilgrims,
Easter comes to us every year to remind us of what God has done for us in Jesus. Even though this happened over two thousand years ago, it continues to amaze us.
As Henri Nouwen, a renowned spiritual writer, beautifully put it: “The resurrection of Jesus was a hidden event. Jesus didn’t rise from the grave to baffle his opponents, to make a victory statement, or to prove to those who crucified him that he was right after all. Jesus rose as a sign to those who had
loved him and followed him that God’s divine love is stronger than death.
To the women and men who had committed themselves to him, he revealed that his mission had been fulfilled
To those who shared in his ministry, he gave the sacred task to call all people into the new life with him.” This is Easter! It is a statement of who our God is. He is the God of love and life. He is the God of new beginnings! Easter reminds us that Love is stronger than hate. Love is stronger than death. In the end, Love wins!
As Jesus’ disciples, may we know His joy, and may it be the foundation of our hope that Jesus’ message of love redeems our world. It is in deep gratitude for all of you that I pray to our Lord. My prayer for you this Easter is that you live as people deeply touched by the resurrection and proclaim:
Christ is risen, Alleluia, Alleluia!
