Dear Monsignor / Rev. Father / Deacon / Religious / Brotherd and Sisters
On the 22nd June 2022, Dr Mathume Joseph Phaahla, the Minister of Health, repealed all remaining COVID-19 regulations, but this does not mean that the pandemic has ended.
Although the wearing of masks and social distancing will no longer be compulsory in most indoor settings including our churches, as an act of true charity out of concern for others, let us remain vigilant when we gather for Holy Mass and all other Liturgical celebration.
At the same time, I take this opportunity to express profound thanks to each and every one of you, for coming together as Catholics in the Archdiocese of Johannesburg and responding in a positive life giving manner, by adhering to the COVID-19 regulations.
Please continue to pray for those most affected by the COVID-19 virus, especially those who have suffered economic hardship and the loss of a loved one during this time of the pandemic.
